All Saints/ All Souls Day

All Saints/All Souls Day
Wednesday, November 1 is a Holy Day of Obligation. We celebrate the Solemnity of All Saints Day, the commemoration of all the holy men and women who have gone before us, honored as saints in the Church. Three Masses are scheduled: at 7 am, 9 am and 7 pm.

On Thursday, November 2 we celebrate the Solemnity of All Souls Day, the commemoration of all the faithfully departed. During the month of November we remember all of our deceased family and friends who have gone before us to eternal life. Throughout the month we will have on display photos and the Book of the Dead in the vestibule. The photos are parishioners who have gone to their eternal rest in the past year. The Book of the Dead contains names of deceased relatives and friends inscribed by parishioners. One Mass is scheduled that day at 9 am.

Let us continue to pray for our deceased brothers and sisters. Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord. And let your perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen. May the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. (Order of Christian Funerals, Pg. 120.)
