Director of Childcare:

OLC is looking for an enthusiastic individual for our Before and After Care (BAC) Program this fall. This individual would be responsible to work with children and staff to create a safe, comfortable, and fun environment in which children can play and learn. This individual would also be responsible
to supervise child care staff.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a child related field or an Associate’s degree w/ 480 hours of experience
First Aid and Adult/Child CPR certification
Central Registry Clearance
Morning hours are 6:30/7:00 A.M. – 8:20. After school is 3:20 – 6:00 P.M. $12/ hour. 20-25 hours a week.

Diocese of Grand Rapids: Immigration STaff Attorney

The Diocese of Grand Rapids is seeking a full-time Immigration Staff Attorney to join the Immigration Legal Services office immediately.  The position will provide high-quality legal representation before the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and U.S. Department of State and manage a substantial case load.  The Immigration Staff Attorney will coordinate all aspects of a client’s case, including client communication, preparing immigration forms, relevant research, drafting personal statements, writing briefs and compiling evidence.

Immigration Legal Services is designed to provide low-cost, legal representation in immigration matters to a community whose household income falls at or below 200% of the poverty guideline.  The focuses of ILS are on family-based and humanitarian immigration matters, including citizenship, petitions for relatives, and permanent residence for family, refugees and asylees. We also represent crime victims in their applications for immigration benefits under VAWA and U visas, TPS holders, DACA holders, and provide general consultations. ILS handles cases before US Citizenship and Immigration Services and the Department of State.

The qualified candidate will have a J.D. with an active license to practice law in any U.S. state (Michigan strongly preferred) and must be highly proficient in both English and Spanish.  Bar candidates will not be considered at this time. Previous experience in a professional context with family-based and/or humanitarian-based immigration matters is preferred. Strong organizational and information management skills, the ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision, excellent time management skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and other computer applications is needed.   Must have competence in communicating and interacting with others of diverse cultural, geographic, and economic backgrounds in a professional and compassionate manner, including the ability to interact with individuals experiencing substantial levels of emotional, physical, financial, or other hardship, and be committed to the mission and goals of the Catholic Church.
