Faith Formation Weather Closing Information

Winter weather is upon us! For Faith Formation closing information, please access the information through WOOD TV8 and WZZM 13. In addition, you can check the parish website and the parish Facebook page for closings or cancellations.

As a reminder, when OLC School is closed due to weather, Faith Formation classes for that day are cancelled. As always, we encourage you to use your best judgement during inclement weather. Your safety and well being are our main concern!

On April 24, 2020 the “Passion and Purpose for Marriage” event is coming to Holy Spirit Parish. Dynamic Catholic and Dr. Allen Hunt will share the best kept secret of marriage. They will provide a plan to help make your relationship stronger! Tickets will be available after Masses and on DynamicCatholic.com starting January 18th. For that weekend only, you can purchase tickets for an Early Bird Special rate of $19. This is a 25% discount.

Seeking Awareness of Addiction and Recovery

Gathering HOPE, an addiction recovery support group, invites the community to attend a public speaking event at the St. Joseph Catholic Church Activity Center in Belding. Daniel Carlock, addiction therapist, will speak on The Problem of Addictions and there is a Solution. This presentation will take place on Sunday, January 19, 2020, at 3:00 p.m. There is no charge to attend. Gathering HOPE extends an invitation to anyone interested in learning more about substance abuse and recovery. For additional information contact 616-446-3000.


Touched by Mercy, a Day for those Affected by Suicide 

will be held at the Franciscan Life Process Center, Lowell Campus, 11650 Downes St. NE Lowell, MI 49331 on Saturday, February 8, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. Join Sister Colleen Ann Nagle, FSE, MA and Father Ron Hutchinson, MA for a special day of reflection, sharing and prayer for those who have been affected by the suicide of a loved one. Natural Family Planning (NFP)

Are you preparing for marriage or looking into Natural Family Planning (NFP) options? The Franciscan LIfe Process Center invites you to Introduction to Natural Family Planning (NFP) on January 23 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at the Grand Rapids campus, 654 Davis Ave., NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504. This one-time session covers the basics of how Natural Family Planning (NFP) works and highlights the differences between methods. Pre-registration is required. Enjoy an evening of fellowship to support St. Isidore Parish! We will celebrate Mardi Gras as we prepare our hearts for the coming season of Lent. We will raise fun and funds! The Theater Departments of Catholic Central High School and West Catholic proudly announce five performances of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This will be the twentieth year the schools have cooperated on this project! Performances will be held on January 22 through 25 at 7:00pm and on January 25 at 2:00pm in the Performing Arts Center located on the campus of Aquinas College. Tickets will be priced at $9 for adults, $7 for students and $5 for patrons 62 and older. Tickets may be purchased on-line at circletheatre.org, at the PAC box office, or by phone (456-6656). Friday, January 24

Aquinas College welcomes any high school students and families to our STEM AQDay on Friday, January 24. If you’re interested in pursuing a career in science, technology, engineering, math, health sciences, nursing or kinesiology – this day is for you! Join us on January 27 for Soup’s On For All! Held at The B.O.B. in downtown Grand Rapids, event attendees can visit each of the building’s floors to sample soups, breads and desserts donated by area restaurants, while enjoying live music and entertainment.

All proceeds from this event support the God’s Kitchen Food and Pantry Programs, which help feed the hungry throughout West Michigan. God’s Kitchen serves 250-350 patrons each day and more than 150,000 meals each year, to anyone who needs it. No questions asked, no qualifiers.
