Special Mass and Liturgy

Live Streamed Memorial Day Mass

We will be offering a Live Streamed Memorial Day Mass in honor of all military on Monday, May 25 at 10:00am on Facebook.
The Church will be closed all day for private prayer on Memorial Day due to the office being closed.

Please note: Even though the church is closed for public Masses and meetings, the parish office IS OPEN Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm (other than Memorial Day).

If you are in need of a priest, please call the parish office at 616-866-0931 to speak to the secretary or to leave a message.  Fr. Tony or Fr. Andrew will return your call as soon as possible.

Preparing for the Consecration to the Holy Family

In preparation for the Consecration to the Holy Family Liturgy, which is directly following the 9:00 am Live-streamed Mass on Sunday, May 24, we ask you to review the following.

Although the formal consecration will occur following the Mass on May 24, serious and mindful preparation during the week before is incredibly important.

Pray as a Family: Each family is strongly recommended to pray together each day up to (and following) the consecration.  You can pray in any way that works for you as a family.  The most important thing is just to pray as a family.

Make a Family Fast: You are encouraged to intnentially fast from something as a family.  This fast will last up to the consecration.  Fasting helps to disciple our minds and hearts and moves us to be more focused on God.

Attend the Sacrament of Reconciliation: It is always best to enter into a consecration in pure heart and mind.  The Sacrament of Reconciliation helps us greatly in this aspect.  Please consider attending Confession tonight at 7pm, Saturday at 3:30pm or by scheduling a private or car-side confession with Fr. Andrew (aayers@olcparish.net).

Pick up a Prayer Card: Prayer cards of the Consecration prayer are available in the parish commons.  During the Liturgy this prayer will be prayed as a community.  We will include the words of the prayer on the screen during the broadcast as well.

And, of course, don’t forget to stay tuned after Mass THIS SUNDAY!
