While 2020 has proved to be a year like no other, The Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary has been going strong. During the past few months the members have clocked over 150 service hours despite the fact that we are in the middle of a pandemic. Some of the things The Ladies Auxiliary members have done in recent months are: feeding the homeless, saying daily Rosaries for our Priests, going live on the Parish Facebook page leading the Rosary, leading the Parish in saying the Rosary before the weekend Masses, cleaning up brush, and painting for a fundraiser.

The Ladies Auxiliary has been meeting monthly through all these months as well and have several more amazing things planned. They will be present at the Knights of Columbus Yard Sale, they are planning a baby shower for this Fall for the Women’s Alpha Center in Cedar Springs, and will be participating in a pumpkin give away this Fall.

If you are 18 years of age or older and would like to join or find out more information about The Ladies Auxiliary, please reach out to Heather Burke at (616) 813-8543 or email her at

Are you celebrating a milestone anniversary this year?  Bishop Walkowiak would like to include you in the prayer intentions for this year’s anniversary Mass.

Send your RSVP to the parish office general email box:

Please include your first and last names and the anniversary in which you are celebrating.

“Vote ProLife” yard signs are available at the Grand Rapids Right to Life Office at 2340 Porter Street, S.W. in Grand Rapids, but to make it easier for you, we will offer them right here at church on a regular basis.  The price for them is $10 each, very close to the cost of making them.  They endorse no particular candidate; only encouraging others to vote prolife.  We will start having them available after all Masses through October.  This is being sponsored by the Our Lady of Consolation Respect Life Ministry.

“Civilize It” Reflection

Jesus uses the parable of the Good Samaritan to answer a question that is both searing and simple: “Who is my neighbor?” (Luke 10: 29). But how often do we see our neighbor in the person who disagrees with us?
