News from the Bishop! Changes coming for Mass attendance!

Bishop Walkowiak is extending the dispensation for all Catholics within the territory of the Diocese of Grand Rapids from obligations of attending Sunday Mass through November 23. For those who wish to attend Mass in person please continue to use our website to make reservations at Eventbrite.

The Bishop has also given permission for parishes in the Diocese to increase the number of the faithful congregating, as long as they adhere to social distancing requirements, along with the continuation of masks being worn.

Therefore starting the weekend of October 17/18, we will increase our seating capacity, reconfigure the seating arrangements and open up the north-side commons entrance doors to make the sign-in process run as efficiently as possible.

Because of these changes we will need even more volunteers to make things run smoothly! Please contact Mary Harkema if you can help at mharkema@olcparish.net. Thank you for unwavering patience. More details will be forth coming!

You can help us save on paper and postage!

The 2020 Parish Census is still underway. We still have nearly 1300 families that have not yet responded. We are preparing to send out a reminder in the mail. I was able to complete the form for a family of 5 in less than 10 minutes. It is very simple, yet very important that we update our records. Paper forms will now be available for anyone that is not interested in completing the form online. Copies can be found on the table in the commons or in the parish office.

THANK YOU!! – Kristina Poirier: Director of Development and Communications

Would you be willing to pray for one hour to end abortion? 40 Days for Life is a pro-life effort that consists of 40 days of praying, fasting, and holding a peaceful vigil in front of an abortion facility.
Our Lady of Consolation has adopted Monday, October 19 to pray at the peaceful vigil. At least two individuals are needed for each hour of the vigil from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Mike Tarach will be outside after all the masses this weekend to sign up volunteers, or you can reach him at tarachm@gmail.com or 616-216-7460.
