Happy October! The month of Respect Life. As Catholics, we have a responsibility to uphold the dignity and protection of all human life, especially the most precious and vulnerable unborn. A specific “Respect Life” communication will be sent out over the weekend. 

Come join us for this year’s “Rosary in the Park” as we meet for public prayer on the 107th Anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima on Saturday, Oct. 12th at 10:00am at the stage in downtown Rockford, near the Rogue River Dam. We will pray the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary for the intentions of Our Blessed Lady, as well as for peace with the upcoming elections in the United States, and for the whole world. The Knights of Columbus will have rosaries available and will also have “Pray for our nation” yard signs available for a donation of $10.00 each. Come pray with us, rain or shine! The passing of a loved one is always difficult, but losing a child can be particularly devastating. Diocese of Grand Rapids Catholic Cemeteries would like to give families who have experienced this unique loss the opportunity to connect with one another, provide peace and comfort, and possibly some healing. The event will start at the office with a guided walk through the cemetery ending at our Infant of Prague section with a prayer. Light refreshments will be provided, along with bubbles and chalk to entertain the young children.

Bishop Walkowiak is inviting all couples celebrating milestone anniversaries to join him on Sunday, October 20 at the 10 a.m. Mass at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew for this annual celebration. A simple reception will immediately follow. Please RSVP by calling Paloma Olvera at 616-288-0908.
