Things are blooming at OLC…
In the fall of 2022, the Garden Ministry set up teams to help cleanup the flower beds around
campus, which was in need of some TLC. The beds were divided into 13 different sections,
numbered, and assigned to a volunteer (or group) to maintain. From master gardeners, garden
lovers, and plant lovers, the volunteers (15 in total) were happy to help with this project. Their
job was to maintain the area, which included: watering, feeding, weeding, mulching, and
planting. Each gardener donated their time, talent, monetary treasure, and resources to keep
these beds in tip-top shape. In addition to the beautiful flower beds, right outside the parish
office windows, you’ll find the Rock Garden. There are some very special OLC history pieces
located here, including 5 years of rocks from OLC School.
The next project is moving the statue of Our Lady from the northside of the church to the
southside. A fire pit and sitting area will replace the statue on the northside. The statue of Our
Lady will be placed in the new Garden of Remembrance. This garden is in memory of all the
unborn and those that have passed before they were able to join us earth-side.
How does all of this happen? We are so blessed to have AMAZING volunteers at OLC who
