Dear OLC Parishioners,
I hope you all are enjoying your summer. It continues to stay busy around here, and we appreciate everyone’s prayers and support. While we have recently completed some major interior renovations, we begin focusing on an outdoor project that will help preserve this wonderful campus. Do you know about the watershed area?
What is the watershed area? This is the outdoor area between the Holy Family Center and the school classrooms. While it is not a gathering space, it is a vital area to access utility equipment and an emergency exit for the classrooms.
Why does this project need to happen? Currently, the utilities are not easily accessible, nor is this a safe exit for the school classrooms. This project will resolve those issues in addition to preventing erosion and providing necessary drainage.
When will this be completed? The retaining wall and gravel will be installed as early as August. Concrete work is scheduled for next summer of 2027.
On the bottom of this message, you’ll find a current image of the space and the proposed design. In the completed project, we will also have two sets of stairs for the egress exits, a roof gutter system, fall protection railing (if necessary), and a security gate at the entrance of the space.
The total project cost is $80,000. All donations for this project should be directed to OLC’s Maintenance Fund. You can give securely online by clicking this link, or by check to OLC with “Maintenance Fund” in the memo line. Thank you for your support!
Sincerely Yours In Christ,
