The Season of Lent at OLC School
Lent is an important time in the church year. Throughout this solemn and holy season, we reflect on God’s merciful love. We prepare our hearts during Lent by imitating Christ and showing mercy to others. At school this Lent, the students will be learning about the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy and how to practice these works.
Week One Focus:
Corporal – Feed the Hungry: Even small children can practice this by helping to set the table, do dishes, or cook with mom and dad. Families can donate to food pantries or volunteer to bring a meal to someone in need.
Spiritual– Counsel the Doubtful: Children can practice being encouraging towards one another. Families can pray for people who have lost faith.
